HRC Hunt Tests

Southern Flight HRC is pleased to bring HRC Hunt Tests to the MidSouth.  As a club, we generally host two Hunt Tests each year.  One is held in the Spring and the other in the Fall.

Check out the Hunt Test tab for dates, entry information, directions and other information about our Hunt Tests.

What is a Hunt Test anyway?

HRC Hunt Tests are designed with a realistic hunting environment in mind.  There are tests for Started level, Seasoned level dogs and Finished level dogs.  Each test includes a series of land and water marks (and blinds for the bigger dogs).  The dogs are judged to a standard set by HRC.  Dogs who meet the minimum standard are awarded a "Pass".  Dogs can accumulate passes and points to achieve several HRC titles:  Titles include:
Started title for young dogs and those just beginning their hunt test careers,
Hunting Retriever (HR) title for dogs who complete their Seasoned title
Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) for dogs who complete their Finished title

One thing is for certain, whether you are handling a young dog or watching a 1500 point dog run, you and your family are sure to have a great time!
See you at the line!
